The UMB-Plug, standing for Universal Machine Bridge, is a device that is embedded directly into the base of the neck. It enters the brain stem, and serves as a human to machine translator. Outside of a human, it appears like a small cable with a spike at the end, attached to a small tube. Once implanted, it appears as a inch wide metal opening in the users neck. A small cable is usually attached to the users Plug in order to make connection, but wireless forms of UMB-Plug do exist. The cable is magnetic and easily hooks the the users plug, often the cable is automated and no work from the user is required.
Once connected, the experience largely varies on the machine the user connects to. Usually the machine displays messages and information in the users vision, and the user controls the machine with little more than a thought.
